This policy explains what information Cindy collects, why, and how it's handled.
1. Information we collect
Depending on how Cindy is configured on your server, we may collect:
- Discord identifiers — your user ID, username, and server (guild) ID, used to apply commands and per-server settings
- Command and interaction data — the commands you run and their inputs, needed to carry them out
- Security and moderation logs — records of automated actions (mutes, kicks, flagged messages) taken by the bot's anti-raid and anti-spam systems, kept so server staff can review them
- Usage data — basic error and performance logs, used for debugging and improving the bot
We don't collect passwords, payment details, or Discord account credentials — we never have access to these.
2. How we use it
- To run commands and fun features as requested
- To operate automated security features, like detecting and acting on raid or spam patterns
- To maintain per-server or per-user settings
- To diagnose bugs and keep the bot running reliably
- To enforce these Terms of Service, including blocking abusive users
3. Third parties
Cindy runs on Discord's platform, so your use is also subject to Discord's own Privacy Policy. We don't sell your data to advertisers or data brokers, and we don't share message content or moderation logs with third parties except where needed to run the bot's infrastructure (for example, our hosting provider) or where required by law.
4. Data retention
Security and moderation logs are kept for [X days] so server staff can review recent actions, after which they're deleted automatically. Command inputs aren't stored beyond what's needed to carry out the command. Server-level settings persist until a server removes the bot or requests deletion.
5. Your choices
- Stop using Cindy at any time, or remove it from your server
- Request a copy of, or deletion of, data we hold about you by contacting us below
- Ask a server admin to disable specific features (including security features) if your server allows it
6. Children's privacy
Cindy isn't directed at children under the age required by Discord's Terms of Service, and we don't knowingly collect data from users below that age.
7. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect stored data, but no system is completely secure. If we become aware of a data breach affecting your information, we'll take appropriate steps to address it.
8. Changes to this policy
We may revise this policy as Cindy evolves. Material changes will be announced in [support server / changelog link]. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
