These terms cover what you can expect from Cindy, and what we expect from you, whenever it's active in your server.
1. Acceptance of terms
By inviting Cindy to a server, or by using any of its commands, you agree to these Terms of Service and the accompanying Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the bot.
2. What Cindy is
Cindy is a custom-built Discord bot combining fun, community-focused features — games, commands, reaction utilities, and the like — with automated security tools such as anti-raid protection, spam filtering, and moderation logging. It runs on fixed logic and rules we've programmed, not a generative AI, so its behavior is predictable and consistent rather than conversational.
3. Age requirement
You must meet the minimum age required by Discord's own Terms of Service (currently 13, or higher where required by local law) to use Cindy. We don't knowingly allow use by anyone under that age.
4. Acceptable use
When using Cindy, you agree not to:
- Use the bot to harass, threaten, or abuse anyone
- Attempt to break, exploit, reverse-engineer, or overload the bot or its infrastructure
- Try to bypass, trigger, or abuse its automated security features (for example, deliberately spamming to test anti-raid limits)
- Use Cindy to share illegal content, or content that violates Discord's Terms of Service or Community Guidelines
- Impersonate Cindy's developers or misrepresent your affiliation with the project
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute access to Cindy without permission
5. Automated moderation & security
Cindy's security features act automatically based on rules and thresholds we configure — for example, muting or removing members who trigger anti-raid or anti-spam limits, or logging moderation actions for server staff to review. These actions are rule-based, not manually reviewed in real time, so occasional false positives can happen. Server admins remain responsible for reviewing and, if needed, reversing automated actions.
6. Availability
We aim to keep Cindy online and responsive, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service. The bot may go offline for maintenance, updates, or reasons outside our control, without advance notice — including its security features, which should not be treated as a sole safeguard for your server.
7. Intellectual property
Cindy's name, avatar, and underlying code belong to its developers unless stated otherwise. You retain ownership of your own server content, but you grant us a license to process it as needed to operate the bot's features, consistent with our Privacy Policy.
8. Termination
We can restrict or block your access to Cindy at our discretion, particularly if you violate these terms, without prior notice. You can stop using Cindy at any time by removing it from your server.
9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
Cindy is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, including for its security and moderation features. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for any damages — including moderation errors, missed threats, or server disruption — arising from your use of, or inability to use, the bot.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Cindy after changes take effect means you accept the revised terms. Significant changes will be announced in [support server / changelog link].
